San Juan Capistrano Sr Community, 55+ Real Estate, Homes and Condos for sale
Mission Viejo is a prime example of a California planned community. This beautiful mid-sized city is one of the nation's largest municipalities built from a single plan, each neighborhood and green space carefully integrated into the overall concept. The Mission Viejo real estate area is mainly residential, but it's also home to a small office and commercial district near the city center, a regional mall, a large hospital, and a community college. Residents here also enjoy abundant recreation opportunities at several local golf courses, a beautiful man-made lake, and a large network of community parks. Read more about Mission Viejo.....

The Mission Viejo Home Market
While most Mission Viejo homes for sale are large single family homes and estates, the local market also includes a wide selection of condos and town homes for buyers in search of a smaller home. Homes and commercial buildings of all sizes in Mission Viejo generally feature Spanish Mission architectural styles, with classic stucco walls and red tile roofs. The Mission Viejo real estate area is also known for its many waterfront properties at great prices – buyers here can search among many beautiful oversize lakeside homes in the low millions price range, where similar listings in other communities might be double the cost. Mission Viejo's finest homes include private boat facilities, lower and upper patios with spas, and 4000+ sq ft open floor plans.
The plan for the Mission Viejo real estate area was drafted by urban planner Donald Bren in the early 1970s, before he became president of the Irvine Company. Earlier developers had dismissed the hilly land here as undevelopable, but Bren was able to prove them wrong with his progressive semi-circular neighborhood designs, and careful preservation of the area's natural appeal, which has kept local property in high demand to this day.
