California existing home sales fell from the previous year in April as tight inventory continues to impede the housing market. April marked the second worst start to a spring homebuying season since the housing recovery started in 2009.
407,000 California homes sold in April 2016 compared to 430,000 in April 2015.
The median selling price in April 2016 climbed to $509,000 from $484,000 in April 2015.
