It can sometimes be challenging to get into the holiday spirit in South Orange County with temperatures rising into the mid 80s! But have no fear, the city of Laguna Beach is here! The holiday spirit has arrived in the form of the Winter Fantasy at the Sawdust Festival. 

This marks the 24th year of the popular Laguna Beach winter show for the art center. Winter Fantasy is open Saturdays and Sundays now until December 21, 2014, from 10:00am until 6:00pm. It is also open the day after Thanksgiving.

California home sales to increase slightly, while prices post slowest gain in four years

With more available homes on the market for sale, California’s housing market will see fewer investors and a return to traditional home buyers as home sales rise modestly and prices flatten out in 2015, according to the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®’ (C.A.R.) “2015 California Housing Market Forecast,” released today. 

The C.A.R. forecast sees an increase in existing home sales of 5.8 percent next year to reach 402,500 units, up from the projected 2014 sales figure of 380,500 homes sold.  Sales in 2014 will be down 8.2 percent from…

The California Association of Realtors closely monitors and analyzes trends in the residential real estate industry. The table below contains the latest reported existing home sales series, median home prices, unsold inventory index, median time on market, first-time buyer housing affordability index, and the latest mortgage rates.



Existing homes sales dropped 1.9% in October 2014 compared to October 2013. The median home price increased 5.4% to $450,620. The Unsold Inventory Index increased 15.2% while the Median Days On the Market increased 25.4%. The Housing Affordability Index dropped 6.0% and the 30-year fixed rate mortgage dropped o.15%.

Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and thankfulness and what better way to do this than to sponsor a Marine and their family? The Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group and Waterman's Harbor Restaurant are inviting all Marines, Sailors, Wounded Warriors and their families to the Dana Point restaurant on Thanksgiving Day for a complimentary dinner.
