San Clemente is finally getting its own Hall of Fame, following a decision by council leaders last week.

The City Council voted 4-1 in favor of instituting a Hall of Fame in the city, ignoring protests from Councilor Bob Baker, who said that such a program ran the risk of embarrassing San Clemente by paying homage to sportsmen and women such as O.J. Councilman Tim Brown however, said that the new Hall of Fame, which will be erected at the San Clemente Aquatics Center, will be a positive thing for the city. He added that he didn't share Baker's fears.

Under the rules of San Clemente’s Hall of Fame, anyone put forward to be honored would either have…
