California real estate sales and median price are predicted to improve only slightly in 2012, as the continuation of the tepid economic recovery, uncertainty about the future, and funding challenges for residential mortgages are expected to keep the market moving sideways, with little foreseeable momentum in either direction, according to the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®’ (C.A.R.) “2012 California Housing Market Forecast” released today. 

The forecast for California real estate sales next year is for a slight 1 percent increase to 496,200 units, following essentially flat sales of 491,100 homes this year compared to the 491,500 homes sold in 2010.

August 2011 statistics show San Clemente CA had 421 foreclosure homes with an average foreclosure sales price of $610,169 vs. an average sales price of $697,103, according to RealtyTrac.com, resulting in a $86,935 savings.

There were 63 new foreclosures in the 92673 zip code and 42 new foreclosures in 92672, for a total of 105 new foreclosures in San Clemente CA. 1 in every 210 housing units received a foreclosure filing in August.

Saturday is California’s 26th annual Coastal Cleanup Day, and you can help clean up trash and debris on San Clemente’s city beach around the pier starting at 9 a.m.

WHAT IS COASTAL CLEANUP DAY?
California Coastal Cleanup Day, an annual beach and inland waterway cleanup, is the state's largest volunteer event. In 2010, over 82,500 volunteers removed more than 1.2 million pounds of trash and recyclables from our beaches, lakes, and waterways. When combined with the International Coastal Cleanup, organized by Ocean Conservancy and taking place on the same day, California Coastal Cleanup Day becomes part of one of the largest volunteer events in the world.
