child_abuse_189The Child Abuse Prevention Center is hosting a Back to School Drive. The Center is looking for community members, organizations, and businesses to donate school supplies. You can help children from low-income families start their school year with the right supplies they often can’t afford.

 

Donations such as crayons, scissors, backpacks, glue sticks, pencils, erasers, folders, and notepads are highly needed. If you are interested in participating please visit www.brightfutures4kids.org to find a drop off location near you!

    The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) applauds Gov. Jerry Brown on signing SB 458 (Corbett) into law.   SB 458 extends the protections of SB 931 (2010), to ensure that any lender that agrees to a short sale must accept the agreed upon short sale payment as payment in full of the outstanding balance of all loans.

    Under previous law (SB 931 of 2010), a first mortgage holder could accept an agreed-upon short sale payment as full payment for the outstanding balance of the loan, but unfortunately, the rule did not apply to junior lien holders. SB 458 extends the protections of SB 931 to junior liens.

    Target in San ClementeDriving by the contruction for the new San Clemente Target store at 990 Avenida Vista Hermosa near the entrance to Talega in San Clemente, it appears Target is on schedule to open as planned on October 9, 2011. The new San Clemente Target store is across the street from the new 45-acre sports park that also looks like it is nearing completion.

    According to an earlier Target press release, the general merchandise stores will include an expanded fresh food assortment, providing greater convenience and value to guests. At about 135,000 square feet, the stores will offer basic fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and baked goods, and employ 100 to 250 team members.
