When San Clemente voters go to the polls on November 4 they will be asked to vote on Measure W. This is a nonbinding vote to advise the City Council what to do at North Beach. LAB was selected by the council in 2006 to develop a city-adopted vision for North Beach to upgrade the area. As the plan has since evolved, the question of what to do at North Beach has become mired in controversy.

Proceeds from the Laguna Beach million dollar home raffle benefit the Ocean Institute, allowing them to fund educational programs for Southern CA students and the construction of the Seaside Learning Center.

The home in this year's raffle is in Laguna Beach and is valued at $1.2 million. The home has been recently remodeled, feautring two-bedrooms and two-baths. the crowning glory of this home is the sweeping views of the ocean from its large deck and windowed living room.

20,000 tickets have been sold for $150 each with the grand prize drawing on November 8, 20008. If you were waiting until the last minute to buy a ticket...you're too late! Tickets are sold out. The Ocean Institute has raised over $3 million dollars.

September Orange County Real Estate Sales Climb

The OC Register reports Orange County real estate sales, for 22 days in September, to be up 47.6% compared to September 2007. This increase represents the largest jump in sales in the past 12 years.

Moderate prices are bringing home buyers back into the market, as Orange County real estate prices declined 26.5% in September from the same time a year ago.

September's median sales price was $430,000, 33% lower than the June 2007's peak of $645,000. The last time the median price was lower was five years ago in September 2003.

    Orange County home values are among the highest in the country according to newly released Census figures. Orange County home values ranked 7th in the country with a 2007 median value of $670,600.

    Eight of the 10 top-ranked counties are in California, with Marin County leading the nation at $918,700.  The data is contained in the census’ 2007 American Community Survey, which includes results from 800 U.S. counties and 520 cities with a population of 65,000 or more.
