Rancho Santa Margarita CA – An Ideal Orange County Community

One of Orange County's newest additions, Rancho Santa Margarita CA is a city that is neatly situated in the rolling hills that lie inland from the ocean. There are numerous neighborhoods that make up this city, many of which are within homeowners associations. It is a master planned community that is sometimes tied in with neighboring communities such as Las Flores, Dove Canyon, and Robinson Ranch. The city has experienced steady growth in the past decade, with a current population of nearly 49,000 residents. There are numerous amenities included in this scenic part of Orange County, from cinemas and boutiques to fine dining opportunities.

Families are also a major component of Rancho Santa Margarita CA, with the abundance of youth sports teams and outdoor recreation opportunities that abound in this community. Because the city has a Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and cool winters that rarely dip below freezing temperatures, it is quite conducive to outdoor sports and other recreational activities of this nature. It is located in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains, and was incorporated into Orange County in 2000 as the 33rd city in the county.

With a mix of restaurants, parks, sporting events, local entertainment, and unique retail shops, there are plenty of things to see and do in this city. This also includes a skate park, a dog park, and Lake Rancho Santa Margarita, which provides plenty of jogging and bike riding opportunities in the paths that surround it. O'Neill Regional Park is also located in close proximity, right between Trabuco and Live Oak Canyons. Studded with oak and sycamore trees, there are camping facilities here which makes an easy getaway for residents of Rancho Santa Margarita CA who don't want to go too far to get away from it all.

Another popular excursion possibility is the Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park, which has many of Orange County's top heritage trees and barley. Popular with youths, the Rancho Santa Margarita Skate Park is free to use and is open from dawn to dusk every day. For an older crowd, the Tijeras Golf Club is a popular destination, as it boasts stunning views and challenging changes in elevation as part of the traditional course.
