Corona Del Mar CA – A Stunning Crown of the Sea
Situated in the sparkling city of Newport Beach, California, Corona del Mar is a neighborhood popular with families, individuals, and businesses who are interested in beachfront development.Spanish for "crown of the sea," Corona del Mar CA was first settled in the early 20th century. It currently boasts a number of free-standing, detached single family homes, with different types and themes of architecture to choose from. Many of these are placed along the Pacific Coast Highway, or State Route 1, and offer stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. There are also newer developments in communities such as Harbor View Hills, which are typical ranch style houses also offering ocean views.
The limits that denote Corona del Mar CA include all land that lies to the seaward face of the San Joaquin Hills, and land south of Avocado Avenue out to the city limits. It also includes the Irvine Terrace development, which is placed just north of Avocado. Within these limits, Corona del Mar boasts pristine beaches, cliffside trails and views, and small village shops and bistros that make it an exceedingly attractive place to live. Some local beaches include the Crystal Cove State Park and Corona del Mar State Beach, which have numerous windy paths to follow leading from one cliff to another. These can be great daytrips or simple daily walks that you can take directly from your backyard as a resident.
As part of larger Newport Beach city, it receives municipal services from the city. Corona del Mar CA is a quiet residential neighborhood, but it does have its points of excitement and entertainment in addition to the clean beaches and windy cliffside paths. This includes the popular Sherman Library and Gardens, which can provide further refuge from the metropolitan areas of Newport Beach, and Fashion Island. Fashion Island is a huge shopping center that draws visitors from all throughout the Orange County area.
There are numerous family friendly restaurants throughout Newport Beach and Corona del Mar CA, including the selection along the docks of Newport Harbor. The local beach known as the Wedge is considered to be one of the finest surfing spots in Southern California, and Balboa Island is in close proximity for quick getaways. Residents of Corona del Mar can take advantage of over 10 miles of local coastline, and enjoy the surfing, body boarding, and swimming opportunities that this region offers its residents and guests alike.
