Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo and the Make-A-Wish Foundation ® of Orange County and the Inland Empire have teamed up again to help grant wishes for kids living with life-threatening medical conditions. Now through the end of January, local high school members of Make-A-Wish clubs are volunteering each Saturday at Kaleidoscope’s Ice-less Skating Rink to raise money for their club to benefit the Foundation through an interactive donation table and a percentage of ice-skating ticket sales.

Make sure to visit San Clemente and enjoy the 17th annual car show on Avenida Del Mar in downtown San Clemente (map) on Sunday, June 10, 2012.  Stroll the street amongst quality show cars from classics to the exotic. The event generally draws over 300 cars, and includes a variety of vendors, entertainment and exhibits. Bring the whole family, and take time to shop or browse Del Mar stores which are also open. The Child Abuse Prevention Center is hosting a Back to School Drive. The Center is looking for community members, organizations, and businesses to donate school supplies. You can help children from low-income families start their school year with the right supplies they often can’t afford.

Lyon Air Museum, a premier Southern California showcase for vintage military aircraft and automobiles, will host an exhibit of ten quintessential Duesenberg automobiles from the collection of General William Lyon. The exhibit of some of the largest, most stylish and beautiful cars ever created will be held July 9-24, 2011, at the facility, located on the west side of the runway at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

The Orange County Transportation Authority launched OCLINK this past Tuesday, a pass that allows riders to hop on trains and buses throughout the county.

Available since July 5, the OCLINK Pass provides unlimited weekday rides on all buses and Metrolink trains throughout Orange County for $7 per person. In addition, as part of its Metrolink expansion program, OCTA is adding six more trains throughout the day.
