Orange County Homes Values Among Highest In U.S.

Orange County home values are among the highest in the country according to newly released Census figures. Orange County home values ranked 7th in the country with a 2007 median value of $670,600.

Eight of the 10 top-ranked counties are in California, with Marin County leading the nation at $918,700.  The data is contained in the census’ 2007 American Community Survey, which includes results from 800 U.S. counties and 520 cities with a population of 65,000 or more.

The Orange County community of Mission Viejo ranked among the top 25 cities with the highest home values, with median values of $680,000 and above, the census reported. The national median home value in 2007 was $194,300. The survey also reports Mission Viejo’s family incomes to be among the nation’s highest with an average of $105,716. This number places Mission Viejo in 16th place.

Mission Viejo ranks 19th for median household income with a median income of $92,614.
